Candee has worked with children for over 25 years as a teacher, special education specialist and principal. Most of her career has been spent working with at-risk students in high needs communities. Candee has taken an interdisciplinary approach to deepening her understanding of the emotional and behavioural needs of children. As a school principal she has developed an attachment-focused discipline model that embraces the work of leaders in the field of attachment. Her training in attachment has included the work of Gordon Neufeld, Ph.D. and Daniel Hughes, Ph.D.
Candee is a regular guest lecturer at the Faculty of Education for York University and University of Ontario (UOIT). She is also a workshop presenter and keynote speaker.
